Hey, Love!

The further I got into this journey, the more I realized that listening to my body and celebrating even the smallest wins were just as important as hitting the big milestones. These little victories have kept me going, reminding me that every single step forward counts.

The Battle with Cravings

Ah, cravings… those sneaky little devils that seem to pop up exactly when motivation is running low and stress is sky-high. In the beginning, they felt impossible to fight off, like a tidal wave pulling me under. Ice cream, in particular, became the ultimate negotiator, convincing me to give in every time. Picture this… it’s late, the house is finally (maybe) quiet, and there it is, calling to me from the freezer. But over time, with some patience and practice, those cravings started to lose their grip. It was all about learning how to handle them, one moment at a time.

Listening to My Body

One of the biggest breakthroughs? Figuring out the difference between real hunger and those emotional cravings. Was I truly hungry, or did I just need a little comfort? Recognizing that sometimes a healthier snack could actually satisfy me helped more than I thought it would. Not always, of course… sometimes nothing but that favorite treat will do. But learning to outsmart cravings, even just a little, gave me a sense of control I didn’t know I had. And giving myself some grace when I couldn’t? That was part of the journey too.

Celebrating Small Wins

And let’s talk about those small victories… they’re EVERYTHING. The first pound lost felt like lifting the first stone off a mountain. That spark of hope lit up in me, reminding me that this journey was worth it. Then there were those moments slipping into “old-new” jeans, feeling like I was reconnecting with an old friend. Or the time I stepped into a size medium of my favorite sweats and realized they fit. (I maybe cried.) Every bit of extra energy felt like gold. And that first “Have you lost weight?” comment? Sometimes those little cheers from others are all it takes to keep pushing forward.

Next time, in Part 3, I’ll dive into how setting up a reward system, keeping a positive attitude, and visualizing success brought out the best in my journey.

You’ve got this, Love! And remember, I’m right here, rooting for you every step of the way.
